Basic self defense tips #1 - You need to get your butt into a dojo with realistic combat and active self defense training. I'm not talking about points based sparring or anything silly like that. I want you to attend a martial arts class that uses realism and teaches you real combat applications to get you ahead with self defense training and optimizing your skills. You won't get better sitting on your butt doing nothing. So get out there and train! And train hard! Basic self defense tips #2 - Another huge thing that you have to incoporate into the best martial arts training is improving your physical fitness levals and lung capacity involving endurance. Going to the gym and lifting weights and doing physical exercise on a daily basis will get you much further in your life then anything else. Especially surviving a violent attack. Being physically in shape makes you less of a target and more capable to defend yourself physically. Basic martial arts tactics #3 - Be training in a martial arts that uses the self defense tactics you may have already. You want to be able to blend and use different styles of combat and street fighting into your collection of training methods. You want to know the moves work and you want to know how to do them properly in the middle of a stressful situation. Basic self defense training #4 - My final bit of knowledge is to live passively. Don't go looking for trouble or trying to start or get into fights. If anything the best place to fight is inside the dojo, so avoid confrontation when you can. It could easily save your life. Those are some of my best initial strategies for taking a more active approach to protecting yourself. Remember that a police officer or bystander typically won't be there to save you in an attack. It is completely up to you so I hope you learned some basic self defense tips you will remember and take advantage of!
