Be ready to defend at all times
Something you must be aware of as a martial artist is being aware and ready to defend against an attack
at all times. Most martial artists only mentally prepare to practice their techniques in the dojo.
What you must realize and remember is that all the different styles of martial arts are all different
forms of combat. Using the right combat techniques to destroy and rip apart a real attacker on the
street is the primary reason everyone takes classes. So memorize the
techniques!
Another big thing to remember is the importance of practicing over and over again with partners using
full force and speed. (Always use safety sparring equipment)
Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent.
Now if you don't feel that the training or the methods of combat and self defense you have been
taught wouldn't work in a real attack, you have two options.
Do something about it.
Or be destroyed when you find out the moves you learned dont work. However
you must understand that you must be ready for violence 24/7. It can
happen at anytime, anywhere to anyone.
Remember that having a black belt doesn't make you a good fighter. All it means is that you have mastered a
style of martial arts. Being a good fighter means being able to win real life fights outside of the
dojo. The 23 dirty and deadly fighting moves have been exposed over here!
